Mock Trial

Objective:

To provide a nontraditional approach to historical investigation. The history of the atomic age provides the teacher with several crucial questions that the students could investigate.

Resources:

Any related science and/or history textbook. Additional research might be required by each student to prepare for their role.

Exercises:

A suggested exercise could be placing President Truman on trial for his actions (or any other key figure in the atomic age). The students would role play the various parts, using the program as a primary resource. As a follow-up exercise, students could include a small research paper on the character they played.
