A small monument now marks the site where the atomic bomb was placed on a 100-foot steel tower and exploded. The plaque says, "TRINITY SITE Where the world's first nuclear device was exploded on July 16, 1945." The bottom plaque is from the National Park Service and notes that Trinity Site is a "National Historic Landmark" as of 1975.
